Issues Masterlist

The front cover of Issue 1 is a collage of images. The background is red and made up of album covers and various images of records and graffiti that is barely visible underneath everything else. There are two people outlined in black like shadows, one of which has a red, star-shaped guitar surounded by multicoloured lines and large letters in white crayon are written across the figure spelling out The Boys Are Alright and from their head purple, pink and blue lines are bursting out. Behind them, stars, moons and various planets have been drawn in white to look like space. The second figure is standing upright, and has a real image of a skateboard embedded in their torso, with white lines drawn around it to look like smashed glass. Instead of the person's head is a multicoloured star. Above them is the multi-gender symbol made to look like the anarchy symbol, and is coloured in pink, white and blue to mimic the trans flag. In the middle of the image, on the right, is a real image of a cigarette with smoke drawn coming out of it and swirling across the entire page. There is a red circle and cross going through the cigarette. On the bottom left of the image is another figure, this time outlined in white and not coloured in like the other two. Behind them is an album cover that depicts a cartoon tiger head eating a cartoon person, and two top surgery scars have been drawn across their chest in white. Beside them is the title of the Zine Tboy Mag which is written in a font that looks like cut out newspaper letters. Beside the writing is a round yello circle with two crosses and a smiley mouth drawn in black to look like a face. Walking across the title, which is angled across the page, is a shadow figure of a bear.

ISSUE #1

A collage set onto an aquamarine background, which looks like the water of a swimming pool. At the top, in orange, grafitti-like text reads “TBOY MAG” in large, capital letters. The O has been replaced with a broken CD disk. Underneath in smaller letters, reads “Issue #2”. Going down the page, underneath the title, there is a packet of testosterone gel, with a clock on it where the logo usually is. To the right, slightly overlapping it, the lyrics “Only one thing comes to those who wait” from 6up 5oh Cop Out by Will Wood are written, highlighted by light blue crayon. In the middle of the page, there is a silhouette of a tree, without any leaves and with twisted branches. In large, red writing, the words “UNLEASH WHAT THEY FEAR THE MOST” is written across the tree in capital letters. There is a real picture of a frog next to the writing, to the right, and slightly covering the word “most”. To the left of the tree, there is a real picture of a needle, with blue water dripping out of it and landing just below where ripples have been drawn. Surrounding the bottom of the tree, there are real pictures of pink water lillies, floating atop the ripples. At the bottom of the page, to the left, there is a bottle of testosterone with white, bougainvillea flowers growing out of it. The second half of the lyrics that were written above are now written across the bottle, reading: “It’s never too late to embrace your fate”. This is also highlighted in blue crayon. To the bottom right, an identical testosterone gel packet is pictured with the same clock on it. There are white stars dotted around the page.

ISSUE #2

The page is surrounded by a blue, curly border. At the very top, a row of decorative spiders hang down across the whole page. Below them, “Halloween special” is written in red, capital letters, with blood dripping down from them. Next to the letters, on the left, is a skeleton wearing a top hat. Only its torso and head is visible, as it is popping out from the T in Tboy Mag. On the right of the red letters, the words “since 2025” are written in pencil. The word Tboy is written across the middle of the page in blue, 3D writing. The ‘O’ has been replaced with a picture of the full moon, with two white stars drawn around it. Underneath, the word ‘magazine’ is written in much smaller, black lettering. “A publication of intellect & vision” is written underneath that in fancy, black lettering. On the bottom half of the page, eyes have been drawn in black and red crayon, staring directly ahead. Daphne and Velma from Scooby Doo are near the bottom of the page; Daphne is looking visibly terrified by something to the right of her, while Velma is bending over, observing something. Behind Daphne, a ghost can be seen, writing words on the left side of the page. The words, in grey, dripping lettering, reads “lock up your daughters.” The word ‘daughter’ is surrounded by quotation marks. On the right hand side of the page, where Daphne and Velma are looking, is a large black crow standing on the very top of a human skull. They are all peaking out from the bottom of the page where the words: “Tonight’s regret is tomorrow’s folly” is written across in old-fashioned, black lettering (like it’s announcing a show at an old-timey theatre). On the bottom left of the page, an old box TV is shown with an old 1920s skeleton cartoon playing on the screen. Huey, Dewey and Louie are sitting across it in Halloween costumes: I can’t figure out what one of the costumes is, but one of them is wearing a blue jacket and a red hat, while the other two are wearing a ghost costume and a devil costume. The words “Issue #3” are written at the bottom right of the page in small letters. The background to the whole cover is one big black and white spiral, like a hypnosis wheel. As well as the words “Are we delving into mysteries we weren’t meant to know?” which are barely visible and repeated twice in a row.
